The EEC and the Government of Singapore are discussing prospects of cooperation

Member of the Board - Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics of the EEC Tatyana Valovaya met with the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Singapore Koh Poh Koon in Moscow on October 25, 2016.
The parties exchanged views on the prospects and formats of cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Government of Singapore through the joint working group established in accordance with the memorandum of understanding dated May 18, 2016.

Presentation of IMF review "Regional Economic Outlook" took place at the EEC

On October 24, 2016 at the initiative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) the Eurasian Economic Commission held a presentation of the next issue of the economic review of the IMF for countries of Central Asia and the Caucasus "Regional Economic Outlook”.
The analytical review, presented by the Deputy Director of the IMF for Middle East and Central Asia Juha Kähkönen, was devoted to the research of the trends of development of the regional economy taking into account the impact of external shocks, exchange rate dynamics of national currencies, as well as reduced growth rates not only in the world economy, but also of the major trading partners (China, Russia, EU).

ASEAN Secretariat holds anti-corruption workshop

As part of efforts to strengthen the ASEAN Secretariat in the area of corporate governance, an anti-corruption workshop was held for staff of the Community and Corporate Affairs Department (CCAD) on October 26, 2016. The workshop aimed to raise awareness of CCAD officers on fraud and anti-corruption issues.

National Coordination Center for Developing Economic Cooperation with the Countries of Asia-Pacific Region (NCC APR) was a partner of the international conference “G20 and BRICS – new global governance institutions”

The conference was organized by the Center for International Institutions Research (CIIR) of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) on October 25, 2016
The event brought together the leading experts of key academic and research institutions of the G20 and BRICS member countries, in particular Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, European Union, India, Republic of Korea, the UK and US.

The EEC Minister Timur Suleimenov: "Financial integration will foster markets that are more resilient to crises thanks to their growth and an increase in their depth and liquidity.”

On October 21, 2016 the 5th Eurasian Forum took place in Verona (Italy) where Member of the Board - Minister in charge of Economic and Financial Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Timur Suleimenov, spoke about financial integration in the Eurasian Economic Union.
The EEC representative announced that developing cooperation is important in order to overcome the negative consequences of the crisis in the global economy. The driving force behind regional integration in Eurasia is the Eurasian Economic Union which provides for the free movement of goods, services, labour and capital.

The EEC and the International Road Transport Union are ready to strengthen cooperation

On October 24, 2016 a meeting between the Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure Adamkul Zhunusov and Deputy Secretary General of the International Road Transport Union (IRU), Head of the Permanent Representation of the International Road Transport Union at the UN Igor Runov was held in Moscow.
The discussion of the meeting focused on the first global UN Global Sustainable Transport Conference scheduled to take place on November 26-27, 2016 in Ashgabat (Turkmenistan). The event will be attended by representatives of the Commission and the heads of the authorized public authorities of the Eurasian Economic Union. The meeting outlined the need to combine the efforts of the parties to create the maximum possible barrier-free environment in this industry.

The process of uniting the EAEU and SREB remains the focus of the scientific and expert community

On October 20, 2016 the Russian International affairs Council (RIAC) hosted a joint round table organised by RIAC and the Embassy of China in Russia, on the topic "Realities and Prospects for uniting the SREB and EAEU. Joint efforts to build a "Great Eurasian Partnership."

The Eurasian Economic Commission was represented by the Director of the Integration Development Department Sergey Shukhno. He opened the event with a welcoming speech together with the President of RIAC Igor Ivanov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Russia Li Hui.
