The EAEC countries are expecting improved production and foreign trade indicators in the agroindustrial sector in 2016-2017

On July 13, 2016 at the session of the Advisory Committee for Agroindustrial Complex under the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) chaired by a Member of the Board - Minister in charge of Industry and Agroindustrial Complex of the EEC, Sergey Sidorskiy, the participants approved the medium-term forecast for the agroindustrial complex development, demand and supply by main types of agricultural products and foodstuffs.

APEC Names Asia-Pacific’s Top Women Entrepreneurs

APEC officials responsible for women’s affairs and small and medium enterprises together with business community representatives have named Xiao Wei of China, founder of a specialized women’s clothing line (Beijing Lanchao Clothing Technology Development Co., Ltd) whose customer base includes breast cancer patients, the Asia-Pacific’s most outstanding woman entrepreneur.
The full list of winners of the APEC Business Efficiency and Success Target Awards recognizing next generation women entrepreneurs were announced in Lima. The contest, also known as the BEST Awards, took place alongside the 2016 APEC Women and the Economy Forum.

APEC Model Wine Export Certificate was approved

The APEC Model Wine Export Certificate, approved by regulatory and trade officials from APEC member economies, will make it simpler and more efficient to trade wine between them by consolidating their existing certificate requirements into a single certificate usable across the region.
“APEC’s new model wine export certificate will reduce administrative burdens for producers” said Rocío Barrios Alvarado, Chair of the APEC Sub-Committee on Standards and Conformance, which administered its development.

EEC Minister Tatyana Valovaya presented the EAEU in Italy

Member of the Board - Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Tatyana Valovaya, participated in the high-level International Conference "Along the Silk Roads" on July 10-11, 2016. The event was organised in Venice, Italy, by the Foundation for World Wide Cooperation, which is headed by former Prime Minister of Italy and former President of the European Commission, Romano Prodi.

The EEC is preparing to establish Eurasian technology parks

The Industrial unit of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) put forward the initiative of establishing a stand-alone site dedicated to Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) technology parks at the International Association of Science Parks (IASP) World Conference to be held on September 19-22, 2016.
Furthermore, EEC representatives have put forward a proposal regarding the establishment of a new subdivision within the IASP structure - the Eurasian Division. If the decision is affirmative, a new office will be established in Moscow in addition to the two IASP offices (in Beijing and Malaga).

EEC Minister Tatyana Valovaya and Ambassador of Mongolia to Russia Banzragchiyn Delgermaa discussed prospective cooperation between the EEC and the Government of Mongolia in the framework of the implementation of a Memorandum of Cooperation

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) hosted a meeting between Member of the Board -Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission Tatyana Valovaya and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Russian Federation Banzragchiyn Delgermaa on July 1, 2016.
The parties discussed the prospective cooperation between the EEC and the Government of Mongolia in the framework of the implementation of a Memorandum of Cooperation. This includes the possible agenda of the second session of the Working Group on Interaction between the EEC and the Government of Mongolia. Note that the first session of the Working Group was held in November last year in Ulan Bator.

Draft Memorandum of Understanding between Eurasian Economic Commission and Eurasian Patent Organisation Approved

The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (the EEC) headed by the Chairman of the EEC Board Tigran Sargsyan approved the draft Memorandum of Understanding between the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Eurasian Patent Organisation (the EAPO) on June 29, 2016.
The draft Memorandum of Understanding between the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Eurasian Patent Organisation is based on the provisions of the Treaty on the EAEU of May 29, 2014 and the Eurasian Patent Convention of September 9, 1994 and provides for cooperation between the parties in the field of intellectual property.

EAEU and China Ready to Move to Negotiations on Agreement on Trade and Economic Cooperation

On June 25, 2016 in Beijing, in the presence of the Presidents of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic China, the Member of the Board - Minister in charge of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission Veronika Nikishina and the Minister of Commerce of the People's Republic of China Gao Hucheng signed a joint declaration on transition to the negotiation stage for development of the Agreement on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Union (the EAEU) and the PRC.

EEC Minister Tatyana Valovaya: "Conjugation of the Silk Road Economic Belt with the EAEU May Promote Creation of a Comprehensive Eurasian Economic Partnership in the Continent"

Member of the Board - Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics of the EEC Tatyana Valovaya participated in the "Summer Davos" held by the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Tianjin (the PRC) on June 26-27, 2016.
The event is positioned as a platform for discussion of topical issues of world politics, global economy, human development and the latest achievements of science and progress, along with the Swiss Davos. For the first time, the Eurasian Economic Commission was invited for participation in the forum.
