EEC Minister Tatyana Valovaya presented the EAEU in Italy

Member of the Board - Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Tatyana Valovaya, participated in the high-level International Conference "Along the Silk Roads" on July 10-11, 2016. The event was organised in Venice, Italy, by the Foundation for World Wide Cooperation, which is headed by former Prime Minister of Italy and former President of the European Commission, Romano Prodi.


Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Tatyana Valovaya informed those present of the current trends in the development of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the international contacts of the Eurasian Economic Commission, as well as the efforts undertaken on the rapprochement of the EAEU and the Silk Road Economic Belt initiative.
The Conference was opened by the President of the World Heritage Fund, Romano Prodi, as well as the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Italy, Paolo Gentiloni, and representatives of the European Commission and the Chinese city of Tianjin. The participants included representatives of the business, public and scientific circles in Italy, other European and Eurasian States.
On the sidelines of the Conference, Tatyana Valovaya also met the President of the World Heritage Fund, Romano Prodi. In particular, the meeting touched on interaction between the EAEU and the EU.
