ASEAN held a forum in Jakarta to promote investment in the region

A Forum and Seminar to socialise the ASEAN Comprehensive Investment Agreement (ACIA) was held on 15-16 April in Jakarta, Indonesia. More than 100 participants from the government, private sector, chambers of commerce and the general public attended the forum. This was the third of the series to socialise the ACIA after being held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in March 2013 and in Manila, Philippines in January 2014.

The Forum aimed to serve as a platform to introduce, promote and improve the understanding of ASEAN's investment agreement, which has entered into force on 29 March 2012. With the theme "Transforming Investment in ASEAN Through ACIA," the forum discussed the salient features of ACIA and its potential benefits to Indonesia and the region, as well as the experiences of Indonesian and third country businesses in investing in ASEAN. The forum was followed by a more in-depth seminar on ACIA for government officials of Indonesia.

The ACIA Forum's pictures and programme can be accessed from the Invest in ASEAN website (http://investasean.asean.org/) or can be accessed directly here.

The ACIA Guidebook for Businesses and Investors in ASEAN was distributed during the Forum and can be accessed from this link.
