China's New Cabinet Members Endorsed

The new lineup of China's State Council, nominated by Premier Li Keqiang, was endorsed by lawmakers at the ongoing national legislative session of 13th National People's Congress in Beijing on Monday.
Han Zheng, Sun Chunlan, Hu Chunhua and Liu He were endorsed as Vice-premiers. The latter is known as the major economic advisor of Chairman Xi Jinping on economic issues. Xiao Jie was appointed Secretary-general of the State Council.


Liu Kun became the Minister of finance. The position of Governor of the People's Bank of China is now occupied by Yi Gang, who previously was Deputy Governor. Wang Zhigang, the new Minister of science and technology, was Deputy too. Some of the senior officials managed to keep the post, namely: Wang Yi, Minister of foreign affairs; Zhong Shan, minister of commerce; He Lifeng, Head of the National Development and Reform Commission; Miao Wei, Minister of industry and information technology.
