ASEAN Meets to Discuss Economic Priorities for 2018

Secretary-General of ASEAN Dato Lim Jock Hoi chaired the 8th Meeting of the Committee of the Whole for the ASEAN Economic Community (CoW) in Singapore on 21 January 2018 where the Member States laid out economic priorities for the year and cross-cutting issues.

The meeting provided Singapore, ASEAN Chair of 2018, an opportunity to share the priority deliverables for their Chairmanship year across the three Community pillars, highlighting this year’s themes of innovation and resilience.
The meeting further noted and provided feedback on the updates regarding various sectoral annual priorities. During the meeting, the CoW also had an interface with representative of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) on the latter’s priorities for 2018.
