The EEC will continue a dialogue between the EAEU and countries, and integration associations of Latin America

It is necessary to continue the dialogue between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and states and integration associations of the Latin American region, think together how to build new partner global economy. This was stated by the Member of the Board - Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Tatyana Valovaya, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum within the framework of the business dialogue “EAEU – Latin America: increasing the pace of cooperation."
"We are interested in building a dialogue with other integration associations and are quite closely working with Latin America. We see an upward trend: in recent years, our dialogue has become very effective," Tatyana Valovaya said.

The EEC Minister stressed that in March this year the Commission and the General Secretariat of the Andean Community signed a Memorandum of Understanding. Thus, one of the oldest regional associations of Latin America with a great integration experience confirmed its interest in deepening cooperation with the EAEU countries. Tatyana Valovaya also recalled the earlier announced intention of the EEC and the South American common market (MERCOSUR) to initiate cooperation in an inter-divisional format.
"We are moving through interaction with regional associations only when we have the support of all their members. We expect that the first bilateral agreements with countries in the region will allow us to return to the idea of a Memorandum with MERCOSUR and to most effectively build relationships with other regional associations," the EEC Minister said.
According to Tatyana Valovaya, at the current stage, the Commission's key objective is to extend the set of tools and dialogue platforms the Union countries have with the countries in the region. The EEC deems it necessary to engage all the EAEU Member States in the development of trade and economic relations with Latin America, almost everyone of the states has a great interest in the region.
