First projects for the environmental development of the EAEU

At the roundtable on interaction and implementation of cooperative projects within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the participants of the Eurasian technology platform (ETP) “Technologies of environmental development” presented the first results of the relevant projects and identified the main vectors for further development of projects in EAEU.
The roundtable dedicated to the prospects and directions of cooperation in the field of technologies of environmental development was initiated by the Department of Industrial Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

The ETP “Technologies of environmental development”, bringing together leading scientific and industrial organizations and profile universities of the Union States, presented the results of the primary laboratory and experimental research of the cooperation project to combat desertification and land degradation in arid zones.
The use of projected technology ensures improving the physical, chemical and biological characteristics of soils and plants: the heat transfer coefficient, quantity of microorganisms, enzymatic activity, viability of seeds, dry mass of the overground parts of plants and root systems and some others.
The participants of the discussion noted that the market of technology products and services is developing dynamically, its capacity is now estimated at 500 billion dollars, and the annual growth rate is 5%. The proposed technology can enter one of the major niches of this market and become interesting not only for the EAEU States but also for third countries.
Representatives of the technical platform presented a project to develop an Internet portal of the best eco-efficient, energy-and resource-saving technologies and solutions. The resource is part of the overall concept of establishment and functioning of the Eurasian network of technology transfer.
The project will ensure not only a common database of such solutions, but also form a platform for their expert evaluation. In addition, the project stimulates the formation of scientific and industrial consortia to conduct complex projects, generation of ideas and exchange of experiences within the framework of the project, legal and expert activity of governmental bodies, technology developers, OEMs and investors.
