“Development of the export capacity of agricultural products and foodstuffs is an important step towards the agreed agroindustrial policy in the EAEU states”

The EEC Board approved the Recommendation “On agreed actions of the Member States of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in the development of export potential of agricultural products and foodstuffs” on December 13, 2016.
The EEC Board Member - Minister in charge of Industry and Agroindustrial Complex Sergey Sidorskiy noted that implementation of the Recommendation would allow the EAEU States to use the best foreign practices in the organization and functioning of export support systems.

“It will help form an effective system for marketing of agricultural products to explore new markets, as well as develop an agreed export policy in the field of development of export potential of agricultural products and foodstuffs of the Union States,” the Minister said.
The Recommendation is the second document in the framework of actions for the development of exports of agricultural products and foodstuffs under the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union. The document aims at promoting joint actions in entering markets of third countries with agri-food products originated in the EAEU.
When developing exports the Union countries should also consider measures and mechanisms to support it, which are already used in the five States and leading foreign exporters of agricultural products and foodstuffs. The document provides for the preparation of the analytical and informational materials by the Commission about peculiarities of import regulation in the major importing countries by certain types of agricultural products and foodstuffs.
