The EEC encourages the business to engage more actively in identifying obstacles in the domestic markets
Acting Deputy Director of the Internal Markets Functioning Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission Sergey Savostyan participated in the conference "The Eurasian Economic Union: legal regulation of international customs cooperation" held in Moscow on October 26, 2016. He made a report on overcoming barriers to trade within the Eurasian Economic Union.
The event was attended by representatives of the Court of the Union, state bodies of the Russian Federation and the business community.
The representative of the Commission focused on methodological approaches in identifying barriers, exclusions and restrictions, cited examples of specific obstacles in the domestic markets.
Sergey Savostyan highlighted the EEC work in the field of identification and elimination of obstacles and spoke about the new instruments introduced to the business community of the Union in this area. In particular, he spoke in more details about the possibilities of a new information resource through which businesses and EAEU citizens can submit applications on obstacles they were faced with when operating on cross-border markets within the Union.
"Our priority is to ensure the functioning of the Union without obstacles, which is possible only when the effective cooperation of all stakeholders from the Member States, businesses and the Eurasian Economic Commission is ensured,” said Sergey Savostyan.
