Prospects of forming common energy markets were discussed at the Eurasian Week

A roundtable "Prospects of forming common markets of energy resources of the Eurasian Economic Union" was organized in Moscow within the framework of the Eurasian Week Forum & Expo 2016 on October 27, 2016. Acting Deputy Director of the Energy Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission Sergey Kolobanov was a moderator of the roundtable.
The event was attended by leaders and representatives of ministries and departments of the Union States in the field of energy, energy companies, as well as infrastructure, scientific and public organizations.


The roundtable was focused on the organization of the practical dialogue between representatives of business, energy industries of the EAEU countries, and expert community.
The roundtable participants discussed topical questions on the prospects and conditions of formation of common markets of energy resources (electricity, gas, oil and petroleum products). In particular, they talked about the benefits of common energy markets, business interest in their establishment and development, realization of investment projects in the energy sector.
Also, peculiarities of Russian energy markets and their impact on the formation of the EAEU common markets, problems of formation and functioning terms of the common gas market, economic efficiency of formation of the common markets of oil and petroleum products.
Special attention of the participants was drawn to the urgent questions of promising development of market trade in energy resources and business interest in the creation of common markets of stock trading within each State and the Union as a whole.
