During the Russian-Norwegian Business Forum prospects of the Eurasian integration were discussed

On October 26, 2016 in Oslo (Norway), the Director of the Integration Development Department Sergey Shukhno took part in the fifth Norwegian-Russian business forum conducted under the auspices of the Confederation of Norwegian industry. The EEC representative made a key presentation on the current status and prospects of development of the Eurasian Economic integration.
Sergey Shukhno noted peculiarities of functioning of the Eurasian Economic Union in connection with the transfer of part of the competences of the Member States to the supranational level. He spoke about perspectives of development of the Eurasian Economic integration for the next ten years, as well as on the international activities of the Union.

Addressing representatives of Norwegian business, Director of the EEC Department, in particular, noted, “Our work is increasingly moving away from pure information format and is becoming more practical and pragmatic. This is very important because the quality and the dynamics of trade and economic relations depend on the expert opinion of the business. Therefore, it is important for us to feel the attitude of business. Each of the States of the Eurasian Economic Union has a great history of relationships, both with the European Union and Norway, and our common task is to use this potential, overcome the crisis and build new partnerships.”
The Forum was attended by the Deputy Minister of Commerce, Industry and Fisheries of Norway Lars Jakob Hiim, who briefed the audience on the current status of Norwegian-Russian relationships.
Within the framework of the forum some parallel sessions dedicated to cooperation in the fields of oil and gas research, and shipbuilding were held. At the session "Russian industry, the economy and the Eurasian development”, the Deputy Chief of the Division for international cooperation under the Department of integration development of the EEC Anton Azarov informed the audience about the first effects of the Eurasian economic integration and the benefits of the unified customs regulations for Norwegian companies.
The fifth Russian-Norwegian Business Forum was organized jointly by the Norwegian-Russian Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. The event was attended by over 200 representatives of large, medium and small business from Norway and Russia, representing industries such as oil and gas, shipbuilding, fisheries, legal and financial consulting, etc.
