The EEC Minister Mukai Kadyrkulov and Secretary General of the WCO Kunio Mikuriya discussed the development of cooperation
From September 27 to 29, 2016 a working meeting of the EEC Board Member - Minister in charge of customs cooperation Mukai Kadyrkulov and Secretary-General of the WCO Kunio Mikuriya was held during the 11th annual Conference of the World Customs Organization (WCO) in Manila (Republic of the Philippines).
The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the development of mutually beneficial relations based on the memorandum of understanding between the Eurasian Economic Commission and the World Customs Organization, which was signed on June 17 this year. During the dialogue, the EEC assessed positively the possibility of participation by the EEC representatives in the session of the WCO working bodies, where modern instruments of customs administration and trade facilitation mechanisms are being developed.
Mukai Kadyrkulov told Kunio Mikuriya on prospects of the adoption of the draft Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as on the expected positive effect in this regard for customs and the business community of the Union.
As the EEC Minister noted, scientific support for the Commission's activities in the sphere of customs regulation is extremely relevant at the present stage of improvement of the customs administration in the Union. Materials of scientific and practical activities of WCO are of interest for the experts of the Commission and will be used in its practice.
