The EEC issued a booklet "Role of intellectual property in development of Eurasian integration”

The Eurasian Economic Commission issued a booklet "Role of intellectual property in development of Eurasian integration”.
The booklet will allow readers to learn the basic aspects, problems and prospects of integration among the Member States of the Eurasian Economic Union in intellectual property.


Information and analytical study of the Eurasian Economic Commission focused on managing intellectual property development processes in the Eurasian Economic Union, including, among other things, legal protection and copyright protection. Particular attention was paid to the results of the work of the EEC, authorized bodies, the Member States public organizations, to the analysis of law enforcement practice designed to prevent violations in respect of intellectual property, coordination of actions of the Member States in respect of copyright protection. The need for and the importance of creating a strategy for security, protection and use of intellectual property of the Eurasian Economic Union was addressed, which should provide systemic development of the intellectual potential of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation, as well as improving the competitiveness and growth rates of national economies.
The booklet includes the main provisions of the draft international treaties developed in elaboration of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union: the draft Agreement on Trademarks, Service Marks and Appellations of Origin of the Eurasian Economic Union and the draft Agreement on the Collective Management of Copyright and Related Rights.
The main results of cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Cooperation Commission and various international and regional organizations in the field of intellectual property were summarized.
The booklet highlights the important role of intellectual property in development of Eurasian integration, as well as the need for the establishment in the Eurasian Economic Union of the most favorable conditions for all interested parties in this field.
