The EEC and the Government of Chile shared best practices on the conclusion of free trade agreements
On September 26-27, 2016 Member of the Board - Minister in charge of Trade of the EEC Veronika Nikishina and Vice Minister for Foreign Trade of the Republic of Chile, Andres Rebolledo, chaired a seminar in order to share best practices on free trade agreements at the headquarters of the Eurasian Economic Commission in Moscow.
The event was attended by the representatives of the Governments of the States of the Eurasian Economic Union, the General Directorate of International Economic Relations and the business community of Chile.
Veronika Nikishina, noted in particular:
"Our interest in Chile's best practices in building preferential trade networks is no coincidence. Chile is a member of the main regional trade agreements: The Trans-Pacific Partnership and the Trans-Pacific Alliance. Our Eurasian Economic Union is now forming a proactive, open trade policy: we conclude free trade agreements with key, promising trading partners".
Andres Rebolledo highlighted the willingness to “share best practices in concluding free trade agreements" and expressed confidence that "the knowledge gained during the two-day seminar will be useful for experts of the Eurasian Union, involved in negotiating free trade agreements".
