BRICS countries interested in the approaches of EAEU Member States on the development of a "single window"
On October 11-12, 2016 the session of the BRICS Contact group on trade and economic issues was held in New Delhi (India), where representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission reported on the implementation of the Main Directions of developing the "single window" mechanism in the foreign economic activity regulatory system of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The Commission’s specialists paid special attention to methods and tools developed within the framework of the implementation of the Main Direction that can be adapted and used in the BRICS countries. This includes the assessment method for the status of the development of the "single window" mechanism, glossary, reference model of the "single window" mechanism, the unification of priority B2G procedures, approaches to the planning and organisation of the project management mechanism at the supranational level.
BRICS countries are showing great interest in continuing the dialogue on the development of the "single window" mechanism as one of the key tools in simplifying trade procedures.
During the two-day session, participants finalised the draft conceptual document: The framework of cooperation among BRICS countries on the "single window". The document was one of the results of the Russian presidency of BRICS in 2015, when a round table on the implementation and development of national "single window" mechanisms was held for the first time at the site of the association with the support of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
On October 13, the framework document was signed by the Ministers of Economy of the BRICS countries.
The signed document may become the basis for convergence in approaches related to implementing national "single window" projects in the countries of the two integration associations and their further interaction.
