Main directions of the agreed transport policy in the EAEU have been approved at the level of deputy heads of specialized agencies of the Union member states
The EEC hosted a meeting of the authorised transport authorities of the Member States of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), chaired by the Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission Adamkul Zhunusov on September 13, 2016. During the meeting the draft Main Directions and Stages of the Coordinated (Agreed) Transport Policy were generally approved.
“At the present time, in accordance with the EAEU Treaty we are completing work on the draft Main Directions and Stages of the Coordinated (Agreed) Transport Policy of the Union,” said the EEC Minister of Energy and Infrastructure. He also noted that this a strategic document, which is supposed to be submitted to the presidents of member states at the end of this year.
Document is intended to help create the conditions for the formation of a single transport area and common market of transportation services in the Union Member States. It covers all modes of transport, including rail, road, water and air.
In the future, the draft “Main directions and stages of coordinated (agreed) transport policy of the Union” will be introduced to the authorities of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
